Although considered a basic skill, many clinicians working with children have never had a training specific to the language of child centered play. Do you know what to say in a therapy session when a child:
- Gets up to walk out of the door?
- Won’t stay Still?
- Makes a mess?
- Starts to cry?
- Is acting out aggressive play scenes?
- Doesn’t want to play?
- Won’t answer questions?
- Looks at you like you’re crazy?
- Tells you that you sound funny?
- Wants you to pretend to be a baby?
- Tries to kill a baby doll?
- Wants to put handcuffs on you?
Learn valuable language skills that will facilitate your ability to provide therapeutic intervention with children, teens, parents, and families. Essential skills that will empower you to teach parents, teachers, and care-givers how to set appropriate limits, better understand their inner motivations, and how to effectively support their ability to communicate.
If you struggle with what to say when working with a child therapeutically or how to set appropriate limits, then you will benefit from this training. This training is for anyone working with children and families who has the desire to increase their knowledge and skill base in the language of play!
